Handcrafted in the USA Since 1889. These square sticks are conveniently used by breaking into smaller pieces. The flat edges can be used for broader strokes.Useful to use in addition to willow charcoal in order to get a greater range of daks, compressed charcoal gives the blackest of blacks whereas willow charcoal produces dark mid tones down to delicate smoky grey tones. They can also be sharpened to a fine point using the Little Red All Art Sharpener or by using a sandpaper block. Can be erased by using a Kneadable eraser.
