Description

Hanah Williams is an esteemed South Australian Printmaker whose work is widely exhibited and is held in public and private collections in Australia and overseas. We are proud to say that Hanah exhibits regularly at The Drawing Room which is the Gallery within The PaintBox. Hanah’s beautiful work draws on the alchemy of etching and embraces variation, elements of chance, and repetition in her work. Hanah’s prints delve into the realms of dreams, mythology and the human connection to the natural world.Hanah is an Adelaide based artist, printmaking educator and graduate of Adelaide College of the Arts, UniSA and Zea Mays Printmaking School in Massachusetts. She has undertaken printmaking residencies in Mexico and the USA and was a recipient of a Helpmann Academy grant in 2017 to complete a Green Certificate in Intaglio Printmaking. She has been a Printmaking Lecturer at the University of South Australia for six years and currently teaches eco-aware printmaking workshops throughout Adelaide and regional South Australia, we are thrilled to have her teaching at The PaintBox. 

In this hands-on series of classes you will be introduced to a range of relief and intaglio techniques including linocut, drypoint and etching metal. Take home a collection of prints and the skills to continue working at home. This workshop is solvent free and eco-friendly. Wear protective clothing ie apron/shirt. Bring: dishwashing gloves or disposable gloves, pencil, eraser and a sketch/notebook. All other materials included.

Introduction to Linocut Printmaking Saturday, 5th June 2021, 2pm till 5pm

Learn how to design, carve and print a linocut block. You will be introduced to a range of relief printmaking techniques and take home a small collection of prints. This workshop is solvent free and eco-aware. Session conducted by artist and printmaking educator Hanah Williams. Included in the price of this workshop is a beautiful morning tea with coffee, tea or sticky chai  from The Little Bar. Introduction to Drypoint Printmaking Saturday, 12th June 2021, 2pm till 5pm

Learn how to design, etch and print a dry-point plate, guided by printmaking educator and artist Hanah Williams. Participants will be introduced to a range of dry-point etching techniques and take home a small collection of prints. This workshop is solvent free and eco-aware. Included in the price of this workshop is a beautiful morning tea with coffee, tea or sticky chai  from The Little Bar. Intro to Intaglio Printmaking Saturday July 17 2021, 2pm till 5pm

Learn how to design, etch and print a metal plate, guided by printmaking educator and artist Hanah Williams. Participants will be introduced to resist etching techniques and take home a small collection of prints. This workshop is solvent free and eco-aware. Included in the price of this workshop is a beautiful morning tea with coffee, tea or sticky chai  from The Little Bar. The Botanical Print, Etching & Intaglio Printmaking  Saturday, July 24th 2021, 2pm till 5pm 

In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to design, etch and print an intaglio plate using eco-aware printmaking techniques. Drawing inspiration from native flora, you will develop a small body of work and the skills to etch in your own studio. This workshop is solvent free and eco-aware.
