Description

The Makers Cabinet Iris Drawing Compass gives you the freedom to draw circles effortlessly. We love these beautiful tools and we are very proud to be workingwith Makers Cabinet, we were the first shop in Australia to stock these instruments and if you visit The PaintBox please ask  to look at the instruments as we always keep them handy, they are true staff favourites!

The Oris is an instrument that allows you to enjoy drawing single, concentric or even shaded circles with its unique moving aperture. The walnut centering tool allows you to position your circle to a given point or can be used as a stand to display your Iris.

The Iris is a beautifully engineered and manufactured drawing tool made of solid brass with stainless steel leaves. It adjusts to create and measure circles of 3 to 70mm and includes the walnut timber centering tool and base.

Made of solid brass with carefully selected stainless-spring steel leaves (for rigidity and corrosion resistance).

Iris’s centring base is made of dark walnut.

Iris has a mat made or natural rubber to secure Iris to your surface

Makers Cabinet packaging is paper-based and is 100% recyclable

Makers Cabinet design, manufacture and sell beautiful drawing and writing tools that are built to last a lifetime. Their products use time honoured mechanisms and materials to create objects that wear ‘in’ rather than wearing ‘out’.

The brand’s ‘Høvel’ pencil plane enables you to whittle your pencil perfectly to any desired point. ‘Iris’ is a unique circle drawing tool inspired by camera apertures. Both products are machined from solid brass and then polished to a perfect finish. They patina with time and use; creating heirloom quality tools for creative practice.

Makers Cabinet uses crowdfunding to create the first batch of each product and once in production they are sold from their London Workshop and to specialist shops like The PaintBox.
