Description

POLYCHROMOS artists’ colour pencils have particularly soft waterproof oil-based leads. Their smoothness and resistance to smudging makes them a pleasure to use. The leads are not brittle, and can be sharpened to a very fine point; this allows you to draw fine detail as well as cover extended areas completely with colour. Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils are ideal for artists at all levels, offering a soft yet vibrant colour lay down. The lead has been bonded to the barrel, which will prevent lead breakage. The oil-based lead is smudge proof, water-resistant and resists fading over time. Official Statement by Faber Press Department: all pencils, pens and erasers from A. W. Faber-Castell Vertrieb GmbH are based on inorganic components (e. g. inorganic fillers, inorganic pigments), syntactical raw materials (organic pigments, dyes, plastics) or vegetable raw materials (waxes, oils). Furthermore we can assure you that Faber-Castell does not do any animal testing. Around three decades ago, Faber-Castell launched a unique forestry project in Prata, in the state of Minas Gerais in south-east Brazil. Approximately 10,000 hectares of former wasteland, over 2,000 km from the Amazon rainforest, were planted with millions of Pinus caribaea seedlings a tree species that flourishes in the dry, sandy soil of the Brazilian savannah. In this way, Faber-Castell grows about 20 cubic metres of wood every hour. The pine forests in Brazil are used mainly to supply the world’s largest plant in SanCarlos (San Paulo state) with a production capacity of around two billion wood-cased pencils per year.
