Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Artists’ Watercolour Pencils allow pencil artists to express themselves in a variety of different ways with these beautiful water-soluble coloured pencils, which can be used for drawing, painting and watercolour. 250 years of experience offered by Faber-Castell together with high-quality materials used guarantee unmistakable luminosity and watercolour effects. The colour can be applied with just a few brush strokes in fine detail or over large areas, unlocking its unique colour intensity. Depending on the type of paper used, the colour can be dissolved completely and acts like traditional watercolour paint.

An official Statement by Faber-Castell’s Press Department is as follows: ‘all pencils, pens and erasers from A. W. Faber-Castell Vertrieb GmbH are based on inorganic components (e. g. inorganic fillers, inorganic pigments), syntactical raw materials (organic pigments, dyes, plastics) or vegetable raw materials (waxes, oils). Furthermore we can assure you that Faber-Castell does not do any animal testing. Around three decades ago, Faber-Castell launched a unique forestry project in Prata, in the state of Minas Gerais in southeast Brazil. Approximately 10,000 hectares of former wasteland, over 2,000 km from the Amazon rainforest, were planted with millions of Pinus Caribaea seedlings ‘a tree species that flourishes in the dry, sandy soil of the Brazilian savannah. In this way, Faber-Castell grows about 20 cubic metres of wood every hour. The pine forests in Brazil are used mainly to supply the world’s largest plant in San Carlos (San Paulo state) with a production capacity of around two billion wood-cased pencils per year.’
