Description
Pastelmat by Clairefontaine of France is a truely wonderful and unique paper. It combines the advantages of both the velour and the sanded paper surfaces to create an almost flat paper that can take and easily hold multiple layers of pastel.Pastelmat has a very pleasant touch and as the surface is not pronounced it allows for precise details and delicate veils whilst also having the ability to grab and hold multiple layers of colour. The ability to hold pastel to the paper significantly decreases the need for the use of fixative.
Pastelmat Paper
Pastelmat paper is based on 360gsm acid free and lightfast card stock. Pastelmat is available in both pads and sheets. The pads have 12 sheets and are available in 3 sizes, 18x24cm, 24x30cm and 30x40cm. The sheets are available in as either half sheets (50x35cm), full sheets (50x70cm) and extra large sheets (70x100cm).
Pastelmat Boards
Pastelmat boards are based on 1800 micron acid free archival mountboard. They are available as a full board (50x70cm) and as an extra large board (70x100cm).
