Premium fixative and restoration grade with a very high component of resin and oil imported directly from Cornelissen and Son in the UK.
A first-grade resin of this type has the lightest colour and a large clump size and is collected from trees in the north of the Samhan mountains in Dhofar. It has a history of use dating back thousands of years in art as well as medicinal and spiritual applications.
Frankincense has a history of use as a tenacious glue, repairing pottery and in the making of musical instruments.
Used and referred to in Coptic art, best known for its wall-paintings, textiles, illuminated manuscripts, and metalwork, much of which survives in monasteries and churches in Ethiopia and within what was once known as the Byzantine Empire.
